…motivation: lost in the rain?
May 31st, 2011 | Categories: Motivation | No Comments »Here on the We(s)t Coast, a record cool, wet spring has really been bringing people down. Even the Stanley Cup playoffs can’t allay the desperate need for a few sunny, warm days.
Many people are complaining that their Spring Workout plans also washed away under the longer-than-usual season of hoodies and raincoats. They’re having a tough time mustering the motivation to shed their winter fat layer and to beef up those underlying muscles that T-shirt season usually inspires.“What to do? What to do?”
You’ve likely experienced that great boost of motivation that comes from seeing actual results from your workouts. When following a regular gym program, those results don’t take very long – certainly within 3 weeks you can see belly fat reduction and muscle definition gains.
But even with that knowledge – it’s getting started, then sticking with a good program that usually takes an extra kick in the ass.
Which is where a personal trainer comes in.
In my own PT business, there are some clients who I see 3-5 times a week. Others who I see once a week. Still others who I see just once a month.
Without exception, each finds that the motivation generated during our sessions provides them with renewed inspiration to continue their workouts on their own. These people appreciate the value they derive from scheduled sessions that are designed specifically around their body composition goals.
Each has met with success because of the work that they’ve done, and the consistency that I’ve helped them to apply.
And when summer weather finally makes its debut here in Vancouver, you’ll notice each of them sporting their “MyTrainerSays” T-shirts in very good form!
Cheers.
