…Spring Training 2012
April 10th, 2012 | Categories: Motivation | No Comments »I am very thankful for the good success of MyTrainerSays. Both my passion and my business are focused on advocating a fitness lifestyle to those who have come to realize that the “free ride of youth” is over.
During my winter spell away from Vancouver, I have put lots of energy into refining and progressing services that I offer to adults who are serious about their physical health and fitness.
I have just completed course work and practical workshops in Post-Rehabilitation exercise. Post-rehab refers to that awkward gap between receiving a therapist’s clearance to return to the gym after an injury, and actually feeling confident enough to make a 100%, independent come-back. Since I have already had good success with clients in this area (shoulders, knees, hips), topping up my clinical knowledge and exercise arsenal will be a definite benefit this spring.
Also while being away I have been reading and researching a lot more about the aging process – particularly in men, for obvious reasons. This has allowed me to make a good start at writing the book that I’ve had in my sights for awhile, one aimed at the fitness needs of a visibly aging and out gay male demographic. When I am back in Vancouver next week, I’ll be talking more with my collaborators, as well as scoping out a publisher.
Throughout Buenos Aires’s late summer and early fall, I have had the opportunity to provide Personal Training to several local residents – although not as much as I had initially planned to, and mostly in exchange for language lessons (another story). Of the training that I do, the majority is outdoors in the public parks around Palermo. This allows me to teach a variety of body-weight and “boot-camp” types of exercise, very effective for total-body conditioning. I packed a TRX, some Lastix bands and skipping ropes with me from Vancouver which, when combined with a convenient tree branch or fence post, have provided some very good workouts. (although I’ll report later on why I still prefer indoor workouts).
My Spring Training programs start next week in Vancouver.
I’m really looking forward to connecting with those who I was working with before the new year, and welcoming new clients who are anxious to kick off both the winter blues and the extra skin folds that inevitably become more challenging to lose as we age.
So whether your goal is to Beef-up with the addition of some lean muscle mass, or /and Slim-down by losing a few kilos of body fat, the coaching and motivation that I can provide for you will improve your chances of success far more than will working on your own.
Check out the Testimonials tab above to read some of the great comments that my business has received.
If you’re serious about ratcheting up your own workouts this spring and summer, or know of someone who wants the benefit of a mature and experienced coach to help them start a Personal fitness program, just send me a note: info@MyTrainerSays.com.
Hasta pronto!
